Smog
Nov 1st, 2011 | By grandad | Category: Memories/ExperiencesI remember ‘smogs’ so thick you really couldn’t see your ‘hand in front of your face!’ I saw a bus conductor walking along the edge of the pavement with a rolled up newspaper alight so that the driver could follow the light!
But how could you breathe? I’m sure you didn’t have those fancy face masks that they had in China for the bird flu…Did the smog smell?
Hi James 12,
No we didn’t have masks! I remember the smog smelled of smoke - a bit like steam engines - I quite liked it!
